Ron Jon Surf Shop has a long history of contributing to our communities that started with our roots in Ship Bottom, NJ and has continued and grown throughout the years. Our contributions have been making a difference in Cocoa Beach since 1963 where not only our flagship store is located but also our corporate offices. The tradition has continued with each new Ron Jon location, and we have become engaged in local charitable activities with each new store.
What is truly special about the Ron Jon family is that not only does the company donate monetarily and with product, our employees give of their time. They clean beaches, donate food, and in our local United Way campaign in Cocoa Beach, we are among the top in participation and per capita donations.
Over the years, Ron Jon has supported United Way, American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the humane society, local high school project graduations, food banks, donations during natural disasters and the Surfrider Foundation to name just a few.
Ron Jon also supports the surf industry’s efforts by carrying brands with philanthropic roots such as Tom’s Shoes, TWLOHA (To Write Love On Here Arms) apparel and We Care Jewelry.
In 2009, the I Care About Project raised $3,600 from its bracelet sales at Ron Jon Surf Shop and donated it to Boarding for Breast Cancer, Surfrider and several marine animal-based charities.
The needs are many and increase year after year. We are faced with more donation requests than we can possibly honor, but each request is considered.
