Position: Line Cook
Non-Exempt Position
Full time, Seasonal
Salary: $9.50 /hr
Minimum of one year restaurant culinary experience. Culinary school education a plus. Able to competently work the assigned station (sauté, pizza, fryer, grill, pantry). Has a thorough knowledge of all Ron Jon Surf Grill specifications ( recipes, presentation, garnishes, plateware and other kitchen procedures ). Works all line and prep stations as assigned, assists in the training of other employees.
Job Tasks (Duties):
Preps, sets and runs a safe, sanitary and stocked station at all times.
Correctly stores and holds all foods at proper temperatures.
Prepares and finishes food orders to specification in regards to proper timing, temperature, presentation, garnish and plateware.
Stays in constant communication with the expediter and other food stations.
Works with other cooks as a team effort to coordinate each order.
Returns all prepared foods to the designated area in clean and appropriate containers.
Competent and complete breakdown of the station.
Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen, it’s equipment and other areas of the restaurant.
Ensures that guest "special" requests are handled promptly and efficiently and that communication between the front and back of the house is handled in a positive and cooperative manner.
Performs any and all other duties assigned by management.

Major Skills/Physical Requirements:
Ability to work effectively under stressful situations (i.e. dealing with multiple orders and staff).
Ability to work well with others to achieve restaurant goals.
Ability to adapt to changing procedures in terms of processing meals and servicing customers.
Ability to listen, ask appropriate questions, and speak clearly and coherently.
Must be able to be stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Minimum Job Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Able to commit to a regular schedule.
