Runner/Expeditor
Non-Exempt Position
Full time, Seasonal
Be able to expedite food with appropriate side dishes, ensuring food quality and presentation. Run food from kitchen in timely, appropriate manner. Service the guests in a knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating manner. Must possess general knowledge of food and beverage operations specifically, food service, guest service and kitchen etiquette. Polished communication skills, a pleasant disposition and be able to work as a contributing member of the team.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assembles individual meals from the line completing each table’s ticket, using pivot points to assure proper food delivery service to designated table.
Is responsible for adding any necessary sides, sauces or specialty silverware to each dish.
Ensures that each dish is made according to menu specs and that special orders have been made correctly.
Runs food to designated tables.
Ensures guest satisfaction upon arrival of food.
Offers any other services: beverage refills, removal of used plates from previous courses and any/all guest requests.
Communicates all assistance provided to designated tables’ server.
Acts as the main line of communication between front and back of house team members.
Is responsible for keeping ticket times in an acceptable range.
Is acutely aware of surroundings and the needs of all guests they encounter.
Maintains a clean work environment, both in the kitchen and the dining room.
Performs any and all other duties assigned by the supervisor or any member of management.

Major Skills/Physical Requirements:
Ability to maintain pleasant relations with guests and coworkers.
Ability to work effectively under stressful situations (i.e. dealing with multiple guests and multiple orders quickly).
Ability to work well with others to achieve restaurant goals.
Ability to adapt to changing procedures in terms of processing sale transactions and servicing customers.
Ability to listen, ask appropriate questions, and speak clearly and coherently.
Must be able to be stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
Minimum Job Requirements:
16 years or older.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Able to commit to a regular schedule.
